This position will assist with the development of policies, processes, and procedures used in the delivery of aid to all applicants to meet compliance with Federal, State, and institutional financial aid rules, regulations and policies and is responsible for coordinated efforts and collaborations across multiple units within the office, Student Affairs Division, and the campus community.

Job Duties:

  • Reviews applications for financial aid; analyzes financial situations and needs; determines appropriate packaging of aid; adjusts packages to meet changes in student eligibility criteria based on Federal and State regulations and institutional policies.
  • Counsels students regarding the availability of aid, application procedures, University policies, federal and State regulations, the process of needs analysis and necessary documentation, and the availability of student employment.
  • Oversees administration of the Federal Work-Study program, including monitoring and tracking students working on campus, as tutors, or community service jobs. Develops and conducts training sessions for FWS supervisors. Monitors and reconciles FWS account and payroll data bi-weekly. Works closely with Career Advancement to establish new contracts with off campus employers and market positions as needed.
  • Works closely with Compliance Officer to maintain the Financial Aid website content - including important announcements, regulatory updates, and revision of forms online. Designs, plans, organizes, develops and administers a wide range of federal and non-federal comprehensive training programs for temporary employees and/or student workers, current and new staff members.
  • Presents financial aid information at Open House, Student Orientation, and via webinars.

Education Requirement:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.

Experience Requirement:

  • One (1) year of professional experience in financial aid and/or student loans.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, public safety authority, crime reporting policies, fire safety, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.
