Major metropolitan areas within the Northeast Corridor are within easy reach of Glassboro. Philadelphia is a thirty minute drive, New York City and Washington, D.C. are less than three hours away, and Jersey beaches are only an hour drive.

 

Description

The Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering invites applications for multiple full-time, non-tenure track lecturer positions with primary responsibilities in teaching and mentoring.  The positions provide an opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative projects and pedagogies in an environment where excellence in teaching is needed and valued.  We seek candidates who are committed to building an inclusive environment for students from diverse backgrounds. 

 

Applications are sought for positions in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.  Individuals are expected to teach core courses in structural, water resources, environmental, geotechnical, transportation and materials.  Lecturers are full time positions, and successful candidates will teach a total of 24 credits over two semesters with the possibility of teaching summer classes for additional compensation.  Although the lecturer position is non-tenure track, the position offers the potential for employment security in two- to five-year reappointments.  Applications should include a letter of application, curriculum vita, a statement of teaching interests and plans, and contact information for three references. Qualifications: The candidate should possess a Baccalaureate degree in civil and environmental engineering and a Master’s degree in engineering or related field – Ph.D. preferred. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to have excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven record of excellence in teaching is desired.

The report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, public safety authority, crime reporting policies, fire safety, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.
