The Department of Biomedical Sciences of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in one of the following disciplines; Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology or Molecular Biology.  The CMSRU Department of Biomedical Sciences is composed of faculty with broad interests in biomedical research and medical education and is dedicated to excellence in innovative teaching, research and service to community.  The faculty are experienced in basic and translation sciences with a research focus in those areas.  Applicants with interests in these areas are especially encouraged to apply, however, all applicants will be considered.  For consideration please apply by Friday, April 27th.

Although the primary focus of these positions is on medical education, faculty members are expected to develop independent research programs and seek external funding. Preference for these positions will be given to candidates with documented teaching experience at the graduate and/or medical school level and an M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent is required.  Teaching formats include large-group lecturing, small-group active learning and practical application sessions and experience with clinical case-based, team-based and self-directed active learning methodology is highly desirable. Other teaching activities include assisting in the development of scholarly projects, advising and mentoring students, and participation in student assessment as well as development of and participation in personal scholarship, service on departmental, college, and university committees and participation in community outreach service programs.

Excellent written and spoken communication skills are also required.

Immediate availability, but flexible.  Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US, and the university will not sponsor an application for a work visa for this position.

The report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, public safety authority, crime reporting policies, fire safety, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.
