Director of Community Engagement and Presenting

The Rowan University College of Performing Arts seeks a Director of Community Engagement and Presenting responsible for the overall stewardship, strategy, and management of developing a thriving community of patrons and increasing the visibility of the College of Performing Arts.

The Director is responsible for the development, management and execution of marketing, public relations, membership, and ticketing strategies that help build and increase audiences and ticket sales, organizational awareness in the community and region, and members/donors. Responsibilities will include expanding and marketing the Marie Rader Presenting Series and the College of Performing Arts Academic Series, overseeing ticketing and box office operations, seeking grant and corporate funding, and assisting with audience and donor development. The successful candidate should possess:

● Bachelor's degree required; Master's in Arts Administration and/or Masters in Business Administration preferred

● A minimum of three years’ experience in arts, marketing, and/or higher education

● Knowledge of the arts and entertainment industries, and arts and entertainment marketing techniques; print and broadcast media including its needs and formats; direct-mail marketing; single-ticket and subscription campaigns; social media and web-based advertising

● Knowledge of financial management to allocate resources; prepare and manage marketing, membership and patron services budgets; analyze financial data; and project income

● Ability to manage complex strategic plans and programs; work effectively under constant deadlines; requires excellent organizational and time management skills, and careful attention to detail

● Excellent interpersonal, diplomatic and communication skills; ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and oral format. Excellent writing and editing skills

● Capable of developing "grassroots" contacts among a broad range of constituencies

● Willingness to work a flexible schedule

● Ability to work collegially and effectively with diverse groups of faculty, staff, students and community members

 

This position is located in the Rowan University College of Performing Arts, which has thriving programs in dance, jazz studies, music industry, music education, music therapy, music performance, theatre, a community music school, and Rowan Music Group (artist services company and record label). The College of Performing Arts is committed to enriching, educating and entertaining the people of southern New Jersey region and beyond.

The report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, public safety authority, crime reporting policies, fire safety, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.
