Department Description:

  • The Departments of Biological Sciences and Molecular and Cellular Biosciences currently serve over 100 majors with 18 full-time faculty members and 4 full-time laboratory technicians. We have 10 fully-equipped, technology-supported classrooms, as well as research labs supporting the major fields of biology. Current objectives for the departments include development of the program in bioinformatics and contributing to the success of the College of Science & Mathematics and health-related initiatives. Essential Duties:

  • Prepare laboratory materials for laboratory classes
  • Communicate effectively and cooperatively with faculty and staff regarding course needs\
  • Provide training and effectively manage student workers in a team environment
  • Maintain a safe working environment for staff and students
  • Clean and organize the classrooms and preparatory labs
  • Perform inventories and facilitate orders for course supplies and equipment

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the biological sciences, biochemistry, chemistry, or a related field of science or science education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous full-time work experience in a laboratory setting
  • Proficiency in aseptic technique and media preparation
  • Ability to work in a high-throughput environment
  • Experience in current techniques and equipment used in molecular and cellular biology
  • Master’s degree in the biological sciences, biochemistry, chemistry, or a related field of science or science education


  • P13 (Step 1 = $37,618)


  • This is a full-time, 10-month position.

The report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, public safety authority, crime reporting policies, fire safety, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.
