The Office of Clinical Experiences is located within the College of Education, the oldest college on campus which serves approximately 3,000 students at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The Office of Clinical Experiences (OCE) is dedicated to ensuring that all College of Education students receive clinical experience placements in schools that meet the standards established by the College of Education, the New Jersey Department of Education and all accrediting bodies. In addition, the office is responsible for supporting candidates applying for certification through the New Jersey State Department of Education.  OCE supports the College of Education’s commitment to addressing issues of access, social justice and equity.

Position Summary:

  • Under direction of the Assistant Director of the Office of Clinical Experiences, provides clerical-administrative support to the assigned department. 


  • Greet visitors, answer incoming calls and direct visitors/callers to the appropriate staff member or office.
  • Answer routine inquiries for information in accordance with departmental policy.
  • Prepare correspondence and maintain essential records/files.
  • Provide instructions to students as needed for the Criminal History clearance and TB test process.
  • Receive and review for completeness the Criminal History clearance and TB tests submitted by students for compliance per College of Education policy.
  • Contact school districts as needed to assist with the placement process.
  • Receive and review for completeness documents submitted by cooperating teachers for honorarium processing.
  • Receive and review for completeness teacher candidate applications and certification applications.
  • Perform other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as needed.


  • Candidates will be required to take and pass a typing test at 40 wpm or higher or show proof of passing a NJ Civil Service Commission or Rowan University typing test in the past. The test will only be scheduled for candidates selected for interview. 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with Banner software preferred
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability in utilizing technology
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues within the department and college as well as school district personnel throughout New Jersey
  • Ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must be team-oriented
  • Commitment to issues of diversity, access, social justice and equity


  • Range A06 ($27,925-$31,504)


  • This position is for a temporary, full-time assignment not to exceed beyond one year from appointment date.

The report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, public safety authority, crime reporting policies, fire safety, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.
