THE DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING AT ROWAN UNIVERSITY invites applications for multiple tenure-track/tenured faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor rank. Successful candidates must have a commitment to teaching excellence at undergraduate and graduate levels, develop a nationally recognized externally funded research program, and contribute to the institution and profession through service. Candidates for Associate/Full Professor position should have an established record of research, teaching, and service commensurate with higher ranks.

Preferred research areas are digital design & manufacturing, automation and robotics, biomechanics/biomaterials; however, outstanding candidates in all areas of mechanical engineering will be considered. A doctorate in mechanical engineering or related field is required for appointment. In addition, excellent written and oral communication skills are expected. Review of applications will begin November 15, 2018 and the deadline to apply is February 15, 2019. The position start date is September 1, 2019. 

The Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering comprises six departments. The Mechanical Engineering department is home to 375 undergraduate students, 25 MS/PhD students, 14 faculty members, and three staff members. The ME undergraduate program has consistently received high recognition by employers and academic peers with multidisciplinary “engineering clinics” as a hallmark. The U.S. News & World Report (2019 edition) has ranked the program at the 13th place in its Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs (master's or bachelor's) category. The Department is now seeking to strengthen its graduate research and teaching with the new Ph.D. program, facilities expansion and renovation, and multiple faculty hiring. The new faculty members will complement and expand research expertise and build strong connections with government/industry in the region and beyond. The report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, public safety authority, crime reporting policies, fire safety, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.
