Performs a variety of secretarial services and provides administrative support within the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine’s Dean’s Office.  Assists with coordination of various clerical activities and projects as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assists with routine correspondence assigned by the Executive Assistant. Transcribes and/or types from handwritten drafts various correspondence and reports.  Responsible for proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, format and arrangement of material.  Maintains confidential correspondence and other files.

Assists in maintaining time and attendance records of Chairs, Deans, Directors and other direct reports of the Dean.

Assists with managing RIMS system for the SOM campus.

Assists with travel and conference schedules, travel expenses, and mileage submissions of the Dean

Assists with the coordination of meetings, prepares agendas, reserves and prepares facilities.

Reviews, sorts, copies, and routes incoming mail.

Handles filing, photocopying, and scanning for the Executive Assistant.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Graduation from an accredited program in secretarial studies plus three (3) years of full-time secretarial experience required.  An additional year of experience is required in lieu of the secretarial program.  Proficiency in typing and word processing skills required.  Experience with additional software packages preferred. College credits may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for secretarial experience.  Up to sixty (60) credits may be substituted for two years of secretarial experience.


This position is part-time 16 hours per week Mon-Thurs

The report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, public safety authority, crime reporting policies, fire safety, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.
