The Department of Mathematics at Rowan University invites applications for multiple Lecturer positions in Mathematics (pure or applied), Statistics, and/or Math Education, to join the five recently hired Lecturers.  The positions are full-time, renewable, and with benefits.  Primary responsibilities include teaching mathematics, statistics, or math content courses for preservice PK-6 teachers (depending on background) at the 100, 200, and possibly 300 levels.

 Lecturers are 10-month positions, and successful candidates will teach a total of 24 credits over two semesters, with the option to teach overload and the possibility of teaching summer classes for additional compensation. While these are non-tenure track positions, they are renewable, with expectations for continuing renewal of two, three, four, and then five years per contract. In addition, the position has a promotion path to Senior Lecturer and Master Lecturer, and includes benefits.

Candidates must hold at least a Masters degree (Ph.D. is preferred) in Mathematics, Statistics, Math Education, or a related discipline.  Evidence of excellence in teaching is required.  Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate dedication to service that will advance the Department’s mission. 

The Department of Mathematics currently has 300 undergraduates and 20 graduate students, and offers B.A., B.S. and M.A. degrees as well as minors in Statistics & Operations Research and Applied Mathematics.  There are 23 full-time, tenure-track faculty, doing research in pure and applied mathematics, statistics, mathematics education, and interdisciplinary work with colleagues from other departments and colleges.
