Within the Rohrer College of Business (RCB) there is a Center for Professional Development focused on helping business students to become “career ready”. Students will graduate with the necessary skills to navigate the job search process, exhibit professionalism and begin a career in their chosen field through; course embedded Career Modules their first year through senior year, career readiness education, daily drop-in hours for career-related questions, mock interviews and a multitude of opportunities for employer engagement on and off-campus. The Center seeks to engage students early and often resulting in individuals that graduate with the poise and professionalism to stand out in a crowded career market. This position is a 3/4-time role.               


The Rohrer Center for Professional Development (RCPD) is seeking an individual to assist with both employer engagement and professional development for the students within the Rohrer College of Business. Employer engagement would be the primary focus of this position and would entail further cultivation of existing relationships with the local business community through on and off-site visits and regular communications. This individual will also work to develop new partnerships that expand the College of Business’ reach both geographically and across industries. Success for this role will be increased on-campus recruitment that includes, but is not limited to on-campus interviewing, employer in residence visits, classroom visits, club/organization presentations, project-based learning, mentoring opportunities, employer sponsorship, industry-specific events and increased student participation in career-related activities. This role will also assist in formalizing the existing internship program and increasing experiential learning opportunities for students ultimately creating greater potential for full-time employment.  

This individual will also be responsible for coordination of employer on campus recruitment activities, working in the “ProfsJobs” system powered by Symplicity and for assisting employers when they come onsite. Candidates must also have the ability to manage employer relations expenses, donations and the employer relations budget, in partnership with the Manager of the RCPD. The other facet of this position will entail planning a few large career-related programs each semester including the annual Accounting & Finance Expo, mock interview event, etiquette dinner and dress for success fashion show. The employer relations associate will also be responsible for sending a weekly tailored message to students featuring current internship and full-time career opportunities driving student traffic to ProfsJobs, the Rowan job site for students. This individual may assist with daily student drop-in hours and skill-building workshops, as needed.

Qualified candidates with a background in career human resources, recruitment, training & development, career counseling, advising and/or possessing similar qualifications will be considered. Candidates for this role must have at least 2 years of related work experience, with 3-5 years of related experience preferred. Applicants must possess a genuine interest in helping students to become career ready and have the ability to manage and grow employer partnerships.  This position will require some nights and weekends.  A Bachelor’s degree is required and Master’s Degree is preferred. This role will have direct exposure to Rohrer College of Business faculty, business school administration and leaders at Rowan. This position will work closely with the Office of Career Advancement and other colleges at Rowan University, as appropriate.

  • Knowledge of higher education systems Campus Labs, Banner and Tableau are a plus
  • Ability to manage a budget and expenses

The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.
