The Department of Biomedical Sciences (BMS) of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) is seeking applications for a non-tenured faculty position at the level of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Master Lecturer with expertise in Embryology.  The Department of BMS at CMSRU is composed of faculty and lecturers with broad interests in biomedical research and is engaged in teaching multiple curricular disciplines. BMS is also dedicated to excellence in innovative teaching, research and service to community.  To be considered, please apply by June 1, 2019.

Embryology is a part of the discipline of anatomy; hence, the content taught in this area should complement the level and needs of the medical anatomy curriculum at CMSRU. The embryologist is expected to work in collaboration with the anatomy faculty and other course directors to meet their course requirements.

An academic qualification of M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent is required.  Preference will be given to candidates with documented teaching experience at the graduate and/or medical school level.  Teaching formats at CMSRU include large-group lecturing, small-group active learning and practical application laboratory sessions.  Experience with clinical case-based, team-based and self-directed active learning pedagogy is desired.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience in directing medical school courses and administration of related programs. Ability to teach anatomy or other disciplines in the biomedical sciences is desired. Other activities include assisting in the development of student scholarly projects, advising and mentoring, participation in student assessment and serving on the appropriate medical school and general University committees related to teaching responsibilities.

Lecturers are expected to remain current in their fields of teaching and scientific expertise.  Excellent written and spoken communication skills are also required.

Immediate availability, but flexible.  Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US, and the department will not sponsor an application for a work visa for this position.
