Woodwind Lecturer / Head of Woodwinds

The Rowan University Department of Music announces a Woodwind Lecturer position (full-time, non-tenure track) to begin September 1, 2020. The successful candidate will join a thriving music program with a proud and long-standing tradition of excellence in music education and performance. The Department of Music is committed to providing collaborative opportunities and inclusive programming for its nearly 400 music majors. This Woodwind Lecturer must demonstrate excellence as a teacher of flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and/or saxophone, as well as significant experience and accomplishment as a performer. A master’s degree in music is required (doctorate or equivalent experience preferred).

Primary responsibilities may include teaching weekly applied lessons for undergraduate and graduate students, coordinating the Woodwind Area (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone), coaching chamber music, and/or instructing woodwind methods to music education majors. Other teaching duties may include courses that match the candidate's qualifications, background, and interests. As Head of Woodwinds, the successful candidate will initiate student recruitment events and work with the Music Department Chair to support adjunct woodwind faculty.

Rowan University Lecturer positions include full benefits and renewable contracts; these non-tenure track positions have the opportunity for advancement to senior and master lecturer, and lecturers are expected to perform service for the Department of Music and the University (attend meetings, serve on committees, etc.).

The report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, public safety authority, crime reporting policies, fire safety, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.
