Open-Rank Teaching Professor, Social Work
Rowan University's newly launched Social Work program is seeking applicants for teaching positions in the Master of Social Work (MSW) and/or Bachelor of Social Work (BSW). The successful candidates will join a growing team as full-time, non-tenure track faculty members at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Teaching Professor beginning September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Rowan's development, and we are looking for experienced, energetic, and collaborative practitioners committed to excellence in undergraduate and graduate social work education.
Position Requirements
- MSW degree from an accredited program
- DSW/Ph.D. in Social Work or related field (ABD may be considered)
- Preferably licensed with 2+ years post-MSW experience
- Experience teaching at college/university level
- Familiarity with technology and learning management systems
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to mental health, equity, and well-being
Responsibilities
- Teaching workload of 12 credit hours per semester in MSW/BSW core courses (in-person and online) or other required work for accreditation
- Course development with ability to teach from a defined area of specialized practice (e.g., policy, research, or direct clinical practice preferred)
- Curriculum development upholding CSWE best practices and standards
- Assistance with accreditation activities including goal setting, implementation, and evaluation
- Student advising, practicum supervision, and other student support as needed
- Weekly office hours and attendance at faculty meetings
About The Social Work Program
The Social Work Program's mission is to teach, model, and advance social work knowledge, values, and skills to prepare social workers to build responsive, equitable services and systems in diverse and dynamic contexts and advance mental health, equity, and well-being throughout South Jersey and beyond. Established in Fall 2023, the program is in candidacy for accreditation. Classes are held in the afternoons and evenings on Rowan's Glassboro campus, with plans to expand to partner satellite locations.

Position Details
- Starting Date: September 1, 2025
- Salary: Competitive
- Term: 10-month full-time positions with initial 2-year renewable contracts
- Teaching Load: 24 credits over two semesters (options for overload and summer classes with additional compensation)

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is:
- Assistant Teaching Professor: AFT: Range 21-24
- Associate Teaching Professor: AFT: Range 25-27
- Teaching Professor: AFT: Range 28-30
