The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering at Rowan University invites applications for a non-tenure-track, full-time, open-rank Teaching Professor position for our new B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) program, with an appointment starting in Fall 2026. The new EET program complements our existing B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) program.
About This Position
The successful candidates for this position will:
- Develop, teach, and assess innovative, project-based, and hands-on courses/labs in the ECE/EET curriculum
- Develop, expand, and help manage lab spaces for delivering a modern ECE/EET curriculum
- Assist students and other faculty in the practical applications of programmable logical controllers, analog and digital circuits & electronics, instrumentation & measurement, embedded systems & IoT, PCB design, control systems, automation, industrial networks and communications, and/or other relevant ECE/EET areas.
- Provide students with curricular and career advice as appropriate.
- Assist students with prototyping, fabrication, and verification of their designs.
- Assist the department, college, and the university with appropriate service responsibilities.
Ideal candidates are those who have experience in PCB design, assembly, fabrication, and/or testing, and can develop and teach project-based lab courses in at least two of the following three priority areas of greatest need.
- programmable logical controllers, instrumentation & measurement,
- control systems, automation, and industrial networks,
- power electronics, power and energy systems
The Department greatly values experiential and project-based learning, integrating emerging topics and technologies into the curriculum, and provides state-of-the-art equipment, instruments, rapid prototyping, fabrication and computational resources to support such activities. Our dedication to project-based learning is reflected in our curriculum, as most of our courses have lab/project components. As a result, we seek individuals who share this dedication, possess the skills and passion to develop and deliver innovative, design- and implementation-based projects, as well as other experiential learning activities, utilizing appropriate modern tools.
Relevant teaching and/or industry experience will be highly valued. Strong communication skills, the ability to work with multi-disciplinary students and faculty teams, and the ability to teach in a project-based, hands-on learning setting are essential.
Minimum requirements
Teaching Professors are expected to hold a terminal degree (or its professional equivalent). The teaching positions are 10-month, full-time, non-tenure track appointments. Successful candidates will teach 24 credits over two semesters, with an option to teach overload and summer classes for additional compensation. Teaching Professor positions are renewable based on performance reviews and programmatic needs.

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is:
