The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.

Application Developer - AFT PSS2

Rowan University is seeking an mid-level experienced, innovative Application Developer to join our growing team.

Are you an imaginative, adaptable problem-solver who enjoys working with a wide variety of technologies? As a member of Information Resources and Technology, you will work with our core group of developers and engineers to create, automate and implement solutions for various colleges and departments at Rowan University. As Rowan University looks to refine its cloud adoption strategy, you will help shape the future of application development, management, and support at Rowan. 

Job Requirements:

  • 4-year degree or equivalent education in a related field. Professional experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.  
  • Three (3) years of related professional experience.
  • Experience with containerization/orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure)
  • Strong programming skills in one or more of the following: Python, Javascript, Grails, PHP.
  • Experience working with SQL and RDBMSs, such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, sqlite. 
  • Experience designing, integrating and automating complex processes.
  • Experience working with or creating RESTful Web Services.
  • Experience working with MVC frameworks.
  • Experience with comprehensive unit testing, test driven development, and user acceptance testing.
  • Experience with linters, static analysis, and software development best practices.
  • Strength in solving technical problems and offering creative solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to excel when working in a collaborative agile environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience with full text search, document indexing, or natural language processing
  • Experience with decommissioning legacy web applications
  • Knowledge of one or more ITSM platforms: ServiceNow, Atlassian, etc.
  • Knowledge of enterprise/SaaS platforms, such as Ellucian Banner, Hyland OnBase, SAP Concur, Technolutions Slate
  • Experience working in a higher education environment.
