The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.

Rowan University is subject to the residency requirements of the NJ First Act (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7, P.L. 2011, Chapter 70). Any person hired to a non-exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey or have one (1) year from the date of employment to establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person hired to an exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York or have ninety (90) days from the date of employment to establish, then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York.

Grant Analyst, Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services (DMAHS) - (SOM Stratford)

SUMMARY:  Responsible for assisting with DMAHS and other grants and contracts review and monitoring. Review and prepare awards for timely closeout. Assist with the review and setup of grants and contracts. Create and maintain grant files for department and audit purposes. Respond to questions from internal and external constituents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Review grants and contracts award notices and take appropriate action to assign and set up accounts.

Assist with submission of invoices, timesheet and support the timely closeouts of sponsored projects.

Assist with the review and recommendations of salary and non-salary expenditures charged to a grant and contract according to sponsor, federal, state and university guidelines and regulations.

Create and maintain financial summaries and files for sponsored projects, including all critical components (Application, Award, Budget).

Assist with the projection of availability of funds (salary and non-salary) for Principal Investigators and Executive Director and advises of any favorable/unfavorable variances.

Respond to questions from internal and other granting agencies for grant sand contracts awards.

Assist with the review and approval of subcontract invoices for accuracy and compliance with contract guidelines.

Prepare special reports as required by Principal Investigators and Executive Director.

Understands and adheres to Rowan University SOM’s compliance standards as they appear in Rowan University SOM’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.

Position require excellent financial and MS Excel skills in additional to significant attention to details.

Performs other related duties as assigned including but not limited to administrative work for RM, CBO and/or MC.

QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree, plus two (2) years of related experience involving research and/or sponsored programs administration, preferably in an academic environment.  Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and financial analysis.  Demonstrated competence with computer/spreadsheet software in relation to the management of a large sponsored programs database.  Current knowledge and expertise of federal/state agency regulations, policies, procedures, and laws applicable to sponsored program activity.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Ability to prioritize, exercise sound judgment and discretion, meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders. Demonstrated knowledge of how to accomplish superior performance in a unionized environment is necessary.  Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
