The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.

Rowan University is subject to the residency requirements of the NJ First Act (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7, P.L. 2011, Chapter 70). Any person hired to a non-exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey or have one (1) year from the date of employment to establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Technical Support Specialist - AFT

Cooper Medical School of Rowan University

Rowan University is seeking an experienced, adaptable Technical Support Specialist to join our growing Technology Services group. In this role you will be responsible for general computing support and classroom and media support at our Cooper Medical School.  This position is part of a Tier 2 team providing support for computers, mobile devices, peripherals, AV technologies and software applications used by students, faculty and staff for instructional, research and administrative purposes.  

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality and professional support services for instructional, research and administrative operations.

  • Setup and deploy workstations and peripherals in administrative offices, classrooms and research labs. 

  • Assist in deployment of classroom-based instructional technologies.

  • Install system, network and application software.

  • Provide day-to-day technical support for our lecture capture platform (Echo360).

  • Support clients using multiple operating systems including Windows and MacOS. Experience with Linux is a plus.

  • Provide basic instruction in the use of hardware and software applications.

  • Provide AV setup and support for live and pre-recorded events as needed. 

  • Perform problem diagnosis and provide solutions for hardware and software issues.

  • Respond to support requests received through the University’s ITSM platform (ServiceNow).

  • Assist customers to identify and utilize technology resources specific to the campus as well as University-wide.

  • Build relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 3 support teams to ensure efficient problem resolution.

  • Participate in internal department projects and University-wide IRT initiatives.

Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 4 (four) years equivalent work experience in a technical field.

  • 3 (three) years of professional experience in at least 2 of the following areas: general computing, classroom or instructional technology and multimedia technology. (3+ years preferred) 

  • Prior experience working with, supporting or administering an academic learning management system such as Echo360.

  • Experience with IT service management software, such as ServiceNow.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.

  • Proficiency in diverse OS computing environments.

  • Demonstrated experience with computer imaging and virtual environments.

  • Experience working collaboratively on projects.

Qualifications (Desirable)

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills.

  • Able to work independently to solve problems with minimal supervision.

  • Ability and desire to stay current with continually changing technology.
