The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.

Rowan University is subject to the residency requirements of the NJ First Act (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7, P.L. 2011, Chapter 70). Any person hired to a non-exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey or have one (1) year from the date of employment to establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person hired to an exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York or have ninety (90) days from the date of employment to establish, then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York.

Job Title: Program Assistant
Department: Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences
Reports To: Senior Associate Dean, Director and Program Support Coordinator
 
 
SUMMARY
Provides student services to all graduate students. Provides administrative and program support to the GSBS Senior Associate Dean, Director and other team members.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
 
  • Manage and maintain GSBS website using Cascade. Create content that improves overall web Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Must understand and apply Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act for web compatibility. Work with website professionals to keep web content fresh and accurate.
  • Create and maintain an active social media presence to communicate information to prospective and current students, alumni and the external audience.
  • Execute assignments and tasks requiring data collection, information gathering, analysis, data entry/retrieval, database maintenance, and forms and graphics generation utilizing a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office, Cognos Query Studio and Tableau.
  • Monitor unsatisfactory academic progress with the GSBS Director at the end of each semester. Generate appropriate letters in a timely manner to inform students of unsatisfactory academic progress and letters of congratulation to students who reestablish satisfactory academic progress.
  • Maintain and update GSBS alumni database. Collect alumni information and coordinate with Alumni Advancement Services. Create email campaigns to solicit alumni data updates. Invite alumni back to participate in the Professional Development Workshops (PhD) or Career Panel Workshops (Masters) to share their career stories.
  • Utilize OnBase for enterprise content management and storing all documents electronically.
  • Principal liaison for Commencement including attending all meetings.
  • Oversee student enrollment records. Use reports to inactivate students who are administratively withdrawn from GSBS or have been approved for a leave of absence.
  • ExamSoft coordinator creates, edits, and posts exams online as well as generates grade reports once exams are complete.
  • Echo360 recording coordinator works with academic technology personnel to schedule recorded lectures into Canvas learning system for all GSBS courses.
  • Undertake routine writing and editing assignments; generates correspondence for signature; maintains mailing lists.
  • Coordinate work study peer tutoring program. Verify and maintain pay records for student workers and collaborate with the Financial Aid office to ensure proper use of Federal Work Study funding.
  • Assist graduate students in day-to-day interactions with an understanding to their various cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Serve as a liaison between the department and other administrative units such as Marketing, Media, Academic Technology, Registrar, Financial Aid, and Information Services and Technology.
  • Understands and adheres to Rowan University’s compliance standards as they appear in Rowan University’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science Degree, plus three (3) years of related experience in a university setting required. Expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required. Knowledge of Banner, Google and Cascade is highly recommended. Additional related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
 
NOTE:
