The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.

Rowan University is subject to the residency requirements of the NJ First Act (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7, P.L. 2011, Chapter 70). Any person hired to a non-exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey or have one (1) year from the date of employment to establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person hired to an exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York or have ninety (90) days from the date of employment to establish, then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York.

Program Assistant, Rowan Medicine (SOM Stratford)

SUMMARY

Under direction of Rowan Medicine (RM) Executive Director, assists with the development, implementation and monitoring of programs within the Clinical Practices of RM.  Provides administrative and program support to the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, Executive Director and other administrative staff. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Prepares comprehensive reports, presentations and official correspondence.  Responds to inquiries as directed and distributes informational materials according to University policy and practice.

Submits purchase requests, check requests and other documents to facilitate administrative function of the RM Administrative office and other RM projects. Anticipates request renewals and processing of related documents.

Monitors staff timesheets and reconciliation of PTO and other related requests for accuracy and proper recording.

Assists with the preparation of projects and proposals.  Gathers and organizes documents, prepares reports, produces tables and spreadsheets for inclusion, edits drafts and final project plans. Assists with implementation and monitoring of RM projects and other initiatives to support the clinical practices and RM Administration.

Coordinates fiscal procedures and maintains records associated with accounts and state budgets.  Tracks budget expendures for programs and ensures funds are utilized according to policy and regulations.  Compiles necessary data and justification for projected expenditures.

Responsible for coordinating the monthly project calendar, including conferences, seminars, program site meetings, workshops, etc.

Identifies vendors for technical services, furniture, equipment and supplies.  Researches major purchases, makes recommendations for purchase of business machines, telecommunication equipment and maintenance contracts, and other office supplies.  Oversees payment for office, travel and meeting expenses.

Prepares reports and spreadsheets containing findings, analyses, conclusions, and recommendations as requested. 

Oversees implementation of administrative decisions and the maintenance of official records of program and related committee activities.

Serves as principal liaison with various administrative units of the University such as Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Human Resources, Payroll, etc.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Social Science or a related discipline, plus one (1) year of related experience in a business office, government agency or university setting required.  Applicants lacking the degree may substitute appropriate related experience on a year-for-year basis.

Experience may range from 0-2 years based on the grade level assigned.
