The Department of Family Medicine at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey, is seeking a licensed psychologist (Psy.D. or Ph.D.) for a full-time faculty position in our Washington Township, New Jersey office. The qualified candidate must possess a commitment to working with marginalized and underserved communities and experience in the administration & delivery of primary patient care services in an inter-professional setting. A secondary appointment to the Rowan University Psychology Department and supervision of Psychology Ph.D. students is possible.

Primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Provide culturally informed assessment and evaluation of patient, treatment, and referrals for patients experiencing emotional, social, and mental health problems.
  • Consider social determinants of health and social identities in assessment, treatment, and patient referrals.
  • Provide consultation to other clinical staff in the department as requested.
  • Adhere to standards and values of patient centered care.
  • Participate in pre and post-doctoral medical training activities, education & feedback within the Department of Family Medicine including:
    • Medical Student and Family Medicine Resident Education
    • Facilitation of wellness activities for department faculty and residents
  • Participation in Departmental grant activities including national, state and local level projects as assigned
  • Involvement in department, school, and university committees as appointed by the Chair or Dean.
  • Perform other duties as designated by the Department Chairperson.

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an accredited APA doctoral program. Candidates must be licensed in the state of New Jersey at the time of hire.

Residency Requirements

Rowan University is subject to the residency requirements of the NJ First Act (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7, P.L. 2011, Chapter 70). Any person hired to a non-exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey or have one (1) year from the date of employment to establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person hired to an exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York or have ninety (90) days from the date of employment to establish, then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York.

Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is available on the Rowan University Police Department (RUPD), Clery Act webpage here. 

The report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as crime prevention, RUPD authority/jurisdiction, crime reporting policies, fire safety, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security on all our campuses. The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University on-campus student housing facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years, including reported crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act or the "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Police Department.
