P/T Instructor – English as a Second Language

The English Language Program seeks qualified instructors to teach in our Program.  The ELP is a university-based intensive academic English program serving both international students and local immigrant students, and whose primary goal is to prepare students for university success.  At present, we are looking to hire part-time ESL instructors for the spring 2020 semester.  The positions are open for the Glassboro campus and/or Camden campus.  Our classes run from Monday to Thursday from 9:00am-3:00pm. There are no evening classes at the ELP.

Qualified candidate must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in TESOL, Linguistics or English.  A minimum of two years teaching academic ESL in a university environment is required.

These positions require teamwork, so the ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as the flexibility necessary when working with international students in an expanding program, will add to the candidate’s qualifications.  The preferred candidates will also have the experience and ability to teach multiple language competencies at all levels of proficiency and will come with creative ideas for curricular development and programmatic growth.

Responsibilities include:

This position has a combination of instructional and programmatic responsibilities. 

  • Teach courses as assigned by the Director and/or the Lead Instructor.
  • Contribute to curriculum development.
  • Attend all mandatory departmental and faculty meetings
  • Participate in program activities
  • Work closely with the Director, Assistant Director and Lead Instructor in order to ensure students’ needs are met

Hourly rate: $38.50 per hour

The report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, public safety authority, crime reporting policies, fire safety, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.
