This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.

SUMMARY

Performs a wide variety of administrative and support services within a section, division, or department.  Assists in the planning and support of program activities.  Coordinates office operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for providing administrative, analytical, computing, supervisory and staff support for the department.  Executes assignments and tasks requiring data collection, information gathering, analysis, data entry/retrieval, data base maintenance, and forms and graphics generation utilizing a variety of software packages.

Screens calls and provides information in accordance with organizational policy. 

Receives and appropriately handles incoming correspondence, makes appointments, schedules meetings, and responds to inquiries.

Oversees, manages and responds to work control center emails with the coordination of the assigned area supervisor for scheduling of work request/projects.

Maintains communicate with customers throughout project for quality control purposes.

Develops and implements controls for work assignments under the direction of the Director.

Manage, correct and submit employee payroll time and request for time off submissions.

Maintains essential records and assists in the maintenance of all activity files.

Prepares and/or compiles data for special reports and analyses, monthly reports, program evaluations, and other related reports within prescribed guidelines.

Undertakes routine writing and editing assignments; generates correspondence for signature; maintains mailing lists.

Maintains or assists in maintaining department accounts, monitoring expenditures and ensuring compliance with budgets.

Coordinates and maintains the department calendar. Exercising discretion, applies informed independent judgment to help manage the Director’s time.  Makes travel arrangements and prepares meeting agendas.

Evaluates office procedures, establishes standards, and recommends and implements new or modified procedures as needed.

Serves as principal liaison between the department and other administrative units such as Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Human Resources and Information Services and Technology.

Develops and maintains good customer services among employees, patients, staff and visitors, promotes teamwork and encourages a positive, efficient work environment.

Presents a professional impression to the public, patients and coworkers, attends Department meetings, serves on Department and University committees, and participates in education and training programs to improve professional and technical skills.

Understands and adheres to RowanSOM compliance standards as they appear in the Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.

Keeps abreast of all federal, state and Rowan University regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.

Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Social Science or a related discipline, and one (1) year of related professional experience in a business office, government agency or university setting required.  Note - related professional experience may be substituted in place of the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis, therefore to qualify under this substitution, applicants must possess at least five (5) years of related professional experience.

SALARY:  Minimum is $49,931.51
