Residency Requirements

Rowan University is subject to the residency requirements of the NJ First Act (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7, P.L. 2011, Chapter 70). Any person hired to a non-exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey or have one (1) year from the date of employment to establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person hired to an exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York or have ninety (90) days from the date of employment to establish, then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York.

The report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as crime prevention, RUPD authority/jurisdiction, crime reporting policies, fire safety, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security on all our campuses. The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University on-campus student housing facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years, including reported crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.
