SUMMARY:

The Content Developer is primarily responsible for supporting all aspects of training module development and delivery process from creation, through item writing and form development activities, to pre and post training exam delivery and analysis. The successful candidate will facilitate the creation of training modules of the highest quality through preparation, workshop participation, form review, process documentation and procedural compliance. They will provide quality control for all training, participant questions, and forms. The Content Developer must have a broad understanding of the relevant topics and demonstrate mastery of the written language as well.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Working with a team of content experts
  • Familiarization with the topic (substance use disorders) and understanding the targeted audience
  • Copying and editing materials from content experts
  • Create graphics, use photos, and work on web page layout
  • Ability to promote content using blogs, articles, social media posts, and more
  • Work with graphic designers, web developers, and faculty to digitize and organize physical content into the learning management system
  • Proofread content before it gets published online
  • Contribute to and moderate discussions on website comment sections
  • Assist in the recruitment of content experts for topic-related podcasts
  • Work with the Program Coordinator and faculty team to track, process and analyze data using Excel; compile statistical information and generate reports for funding agency
  • Assist in data collection, data entry and the compilation of summary data for educational and grant-related and/or departmental reporting
  • Represent the NMI at project related meetings in addition to serving on project committees as needed or required as it relates to educational activities, resources, and programming
  • Serves as liaison with University units (e.g. Grants, IST, Rowan Global) and keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state, and University regulations, laws and policies to ensure education program compliance
  • Understands and adheres to Rowan-Virtua SOM compliance standards as they appear in the Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state, and University regulations and laws and policies as they currently exist and as they change or are modified
  • Perform other related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. A minimum of 3- 5 years’ professional work experience is preferred, preferably as a copywriter, content developer, editor or similar communications position with published work across different mediums. Demonstrated experience in writing and editing. Experience working in a higher education environment preferred.

Knowledge and/or understanding of New Jersey opiate prescribing laws and best practices as well as knowledge and/or understanding of MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) and the effectiveness of buprenorphine is preferred. Keen knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

May be required to work off hours as needed to meet grant deadlines.

SALARY INFORMATION:

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this part-time position is $25,000 to $37,000, with placement within the range determined by candidate's qualifications, professional experience, internal equity, and other factors.

This is a Part-Time, Temporary Grant Funded position, working 20 hours a week. Duration of grant is through 2027 or when funding ends.
