The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.

Rowan University is subject to the residency requirements of the NJ First Act (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7, P.L. 2011, Chapter 70). Any person hired to a non-exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey or have one (1) year from the date of employment to establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person hired to an exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York or have ninety (90) days from the date of employment to establish, then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York.

The Department of Educational Services and Leadership is one of four departments within the College of Education.  The Department of Educational Services and Leadership houses graduate programs in educational leadership, school administration, school psychology, counseling in educational settings, higher education, a post-baccalaureate program in school nursing, and an undergraduate program in leadership & social innovation.

The Department of Educational Services and Leadership is accepting applications for a full-time lecturer position for our master's in school administration and doctorate in educational leadership programs beginning fall of 2023. We are especially interested in candidates whose practice and teaching explicitly address issues of equity, access, and social justice. The department is seeking a creative and innovative faculty member to play an integral role in our MSA and EdD programs.

Applicants who bring diverse perspectives to the university or who have capacity to mentor and advise students who are members of groups that have been historically and are currently marginalized in the U.S. and in U.S. schools are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

This position requires demonstrated professional and teaching excellence in educational institutions. The successful candidate meets the following qualifications:

Required

  • Earned doctorate (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) from an accredited institution with a background in PK-12 administration and leadership.
  • Earned certification as an educational leader and/or educational administrator (any state)
  • A clear understanding of the social justice issues that face educational leaders; and a commitment to equity and the celebration of diversity in a pluralistic society.
  • A minimum of 5 years of practitioner experience in school leadership and administration
  • An ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external relationships in dynamic and collaborative environments.

Preferred

  • Ability to demonstrate currency in service, fluency in literature and research in educational leadership and change.
  • Experience in developing and delivering educational programs on-line.
  • A record of excellence in teaching at the graduate level.
  • Practitioner experience in school leadership and administration in multiple districts.
