Rowan University is seeking a highly skilled Online Data Intelligence Analyst to support Rowan Online. This position will work closely with the Office of Institutional Research & Analytics and will be responsible for managing the increasing volume and complexity of data requests—spanning reports, dashboards, and strategic insights related to Rowan Online.

The Data Analyst will collaborate with various functional offices, including Academic Affairs, Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Success, to gather and analyze data for reporting and dashboard development for Rowan Online. Additionally, the role will support Rowan’s external reporting commitments related to Rowan Online and contribute to broader institutional analytics initiatives.

Beyond reporting, the Data Analyst will play a key role in data cataloging, governance, and data source optimization, streamlining the handling of both recurring and ad-hoc requests efficiently. This position requires a deep understanding of Rowan Online’s operations, university data systems, and reporting tools, ensuring the development of accurate and strategic data insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Rowan Online leadership understand needs,  analyze data, identify trends, and present key insights.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and reports to support high-level analyses.

  • Generate ad-hoc reports based on technical and functional requirements from internal and external stakeholders.

  • Provide data for mandatory state and federal reporting, including New Jersey SURE Reports and IPEDS related to Rowan Online.

  • Assist in the completion of external institutional surveys related to Rowan Online, such as U.S. News & World Report and Peterson’s Annual Survey of Academic Institutions.

  • Track and analyze large datasets to uncover meaningful trends and inform strategic decision-making.

  • Ensure data accuracy, validity, and integrity across Rowan Online’s data sources and reporting platforms.

  • Collaborate with the Office of Institutional Research & Analytics to enhance data integrity within Banner and ODS systems.

  • Develop data quality monitoring dashboards and work with colleagues to improve data governance.

  • Catalog data assets and definitions in Informatica Data Catalog to improve accessibility and documentation.

  • Build ETL pipelines to construct datasets for dashboards and reports.

  • Participate in team code reviews, quality checks, best practices for data management, and team meetings with OIRA.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all reports, dashboards, and processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and the ability to write complex queries

  • Strong proficiency in building ETL Pipelines

  • Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools, such as Tableau

  • Solid analytical and data management skills with the ability to translate data into strategic insights

  • Experience employing a variety of data analysis techniques, including logistic regression, decision trees, and cluster analysis.

  • Proficiency in at least one statistical software package (e.g., R, SPSS, Python, or Rapid Insight Analytics)

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively

  • Proven ability to analyze complex and ill-defined problems/opportunities and a track record of developing and delivering solutions
