The Admissions Recruiter will primarily recruit transfer students. Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Admissions the position is responsible for participation in all aspects of undergraduate admission efforts including all virtual and in-person recruitment activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating candidates for admission and Interviewing candidates.
  • Assist in reviewing applications for fall and spring semesters.
  • Helping students  understand transfer credit evaluations and academic program requirements prior to applying for admission
  • Play an active role in the University Open House Programs, Campus Visit Programs, Admitted Students Days and Tour Presentations.
  • Participate in University committees and related professional association activities.
  • Conduct comprehensive presentations for counselors and students during college visits.
  • Represent Rowan University to parents and students at regional and national college fairs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college.
  • Experience working in a college admissions office, including transfer student recruitment.
  • Availability to work- day, evening and weekend hours - including extensive travel.
  • Experience working at a tuition-driven institution.
  • Customer-focused, competitive, and able to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Highly proficient with technology, such as:  Banner, Slate CRM, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Hours:

  • This temporary, part-time position is assigned no more than twenty-five (25) hours per week. Work is contracted annually to coincide with the fiscal year and is contingent upon budget appropriate.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US, and the university will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.

Residency Requirements

Rowan University is subject to the residency requirements of the NJ First Act (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7, P.L. 2011, Chapter 70). Any person hired to a non-exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey or have one (1) year from the date of employment to establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person hired to an exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York or have ninety (90) days from the date of employment to establish, then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York.

Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

Rowan is committed in assisting all members of our University community in providing for their safety and security.

The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is available on the Rowan University Police Department (RUPD), Clery Act webpage here. 

The report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as crime prevention, RUPD authority/jurisdiction, crime reporting policies, fire safety, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security on all our campuses. The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University on-campus student housing facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years, including reported crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act or the "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Police Department.
