Position: Assistant/Associate Dean, William G. Rohrer College of Business – 12 month full-time position

 

Position Description:

Rowan University invites applications for an Assistant / Associate Dean of the William G. Rohrer College of Business (RCB). RCB seeks an inspiring, visible, and collaborative individual who is comfortable working in a growing, innovative environment. The Assistant / Associate Dean will be instrumental in helping to steer the College through the next phase of strategic transformation in support of Rowan University’s path to an R1 institution. This individual will support the Dean in crafting and implementing strategic initiatives, working directly with faculty and staff to drive excellence in all facets of the College. This position provides the opportunity to work closely with leaders across the university as well as key stakeholders.

 

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in a business discipline from an AACSB accredited institution. Demonstrated evidence of leadership in a collegiate business school setting as well as excellence in teaching, research, and service. Familiarity with AACSB accreditation standards and practices. An understanding of undergraduate and graduate business programs, curriculum development, curriculum evaluation, and student learning in today’s business environment. Success working with different student populations and supporting their progress. Willingness and capability to take initiative to drive excellence in all facets of College operations. Demonstrated experience interacting with external constituents, including alumni, employers, and potential donors. Industry experience outside of a university is desirable. Candidates with the appropriate academic qualifications may be considered for a concurrent appointment as either an associate professor or a full professor in a tenured or tenure-track position. 

NOTE: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US, and the university will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.

Anticipated Start Date: September 1, 2025

Salary/Benefits:

  • In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $170,000.00 to $190,000.00. When extending any salary offer, Rowan University considers many factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, work experience, education, training, key skills, internal equity, as well as market and other organizational considerations.

  • For eligible employees, benefits include: comprehensive NJ State health, dental and retirement benefits, extensive accrued time off/paid holidays, and tuition reimbursement for employee, spouse, and dependents to attend Rowan University, Glassboro. (Tuition reimbursement will apply to undergraduate degrees only for spouse and dependents).

Rohrer College of Business:

The William G. Rohrer College of Business is a growing, vibrant community with more than 2,600 undergraduate and masters’ level students. A state-of-the-art building provides 100,000 square feet of space housing the latest in technology, collaboration and creative spaces, career services, academic advising, and dining options. 

RCB is one of a small number of business schools in the U.S. to hold accreditations from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) for its business programs and from the Computing Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) for its Information Systems & Analytics program. 

RCB offers eight undergraduate majors, eight minors, and several certificates. New offerings in professional sales and FinTech launched in Spring 2025. Graduate programs include the MBA and MS in Finance. The College has four departments: Accounting & Finance, Marketing & Business Information Systems, Management, and Entrepreneurship. Rowan is the second university in the country to offer M.D. and D.O. medical-degree granting programs. The institution is also home to the South Jersey Technology Park, which houses a business incubator. The University boasts seven colleges – William G. Rohrer College of Business, Henry M. Rowan University’s main campus is in Glassboro, N.J., 20 miles southeast of Philadelphia. The Southern New-Jersey/Philadelphia area offers abundant professional and recreational opportunities.  While many areas in the Washington-Boston corridor are synonymous with high cost of living, Southern New-Jersey/Philadelphia’s cost of living is reasonable. The campus is situated within one hour of New Jersey beaches and two hours of the mountains of Pennsylvania. The region is home to top K-12 school districts, private schools, and other educational programs.
