The College of Science & Mathematics which houses the School of Earth & Environment seeks to hire a full-time temporary Assistant Teaching Professor with expertise in food systems to teach existing and new food-related courses, support the development of Regenerative Food Systems curricula, and coordinate farm demonstration sites. The Regenerative Food Systems program is grounded in teaching, innovation, and building community around growing of food regeneratively, the necessary transformation of system-wide processes and infrastructure to support feeding a population equitably. This position is 12-month, with an appointment of two years, and includes benefits. 

The successful candidate must have a commitment to teaching excellence and contribute to the University through service. In addition, this individual will oversee the operation of farm demonstration sites that will provide experiential learning for students, technical assistance to community members, and a forum of exchange between Rowan University and local communities. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in educating and training the next generation of agriculture professionals. This role requires a combination of leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for sharing knowledge. 

This temporary non-tenure-track teaching position starts January 2025. The new faculty member will be appointed to one of the food-related departments within the College of Science & Mathematics / School of Earth & Environment (e.g., Biological & Biomedical Sciences; Environmental Science; the Department of Geography, Planning, and Sustainability). A Ph.D. degree in a discipline relevant to regenerative food systems is expected; candidates with Master’s degrees will be considered.

The College of Science & Mathematics is home to nine academic departments and offers a diverse array of undergraduate, masters, PhD, and certificate programs.
