Program Administrator (Assistant Director 2) of English Language Program

The International Center at Rowan University seeks applications for the position of Program Administrator of the English Language Program (ELP). We seek a visionary and entrepreneurial leader to guide in the continued success of one of the fast-growing, successful intensive English programs in the country. The Program Administrator, as chief representative of the ELP, has the responsibility for supervising and coordinating administrative, teaching, student recruitment, and service activities. The Program Administrator reports to the Associate Provost for International Education.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manages a team of Intensive English Program Instructors and student workers ensuring effective teaching of all levels and skills of ELP classes.

2. Lead the development and implementation of the ELP strategic growth plan and ongoing work plan.

3. Reviews and designs program curriculum and instructional materials to meet the evolving needs of the program and students.

4. Develops and assigns class schedules, taking into consideration student needs and instructor availability.

5. Evaluates learning outcomes and advises ELP students on academic progress and options for retention or progression to Rowan’s degree programs.

6. Provides academic advising and support services to address students' language learning needs.

7. Collaborates with the International Center administration to implement program goals and objectives, including budgetary considerations.

8. Manages administrative tasks, including reviewing and processing student applications, hiring teachers, building course schedule and registering students in courses, tracking tuition payments, managing program marketing, keeping the program website up-to-date, and building reports.

9. Acts as a liaison between instructors, students, and university administration to resolve any issues that may arise.

10. Assists in program marketing and recruiting with both local populations and international students.

11. Coordinates with campus offices, including the International Center, Strategic Enrollment Management, Registrar, Bursar, Information Resource Technology, and University Housing to provide a smooth transition and cultural adjustment, maintain ELP student services, and increase student matriculation to Rowan.

12. Develop additional revenue-generating sources through custom programs and partnerships.

Required Qualifications Educational Requirements

Master's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education, or a related field. Required Experience Five (5) years of experience in ESL/EFL teaching and program management. Preferred Experience Previous experience in an intensive English program. Experience with SEVIS system as a designated school official. Experience living, studying or working in a country outside the US or experience living, studying or working in the US as a foreign national. Previous experience in higher education administration. Experience with Terra Dotta and Banner.
