Camp EduAdventures is a 5-week long summer camp hosted by Rowan University’s College of Education for campers entering grades 1 to 6. Our camp adventures include educational experiences, interactive experiments, indoor/outdoor play, and exciting on and off-campus field trips.

Job Title: Camp Classroom Teacher

Location: Camp EduAdventures, James Hall, Rowan University

Position Type: Seasonal

Reports to: EEC Department Chair

Position Description:

Camp Classroom teachers are responsible for overseeing a group of ~20 campers in classroom, outdoor, and field trip settings. The Classroom Teacher will be responsible for teaching and guiding a group of children ages 6-12 in an academic or enrichment subject area. The role involves following pre-developed engaging lesson plans, leading interactive activities, and maintaining a positive and supportive classroom environment. As a Classroom Teacher at Camp EduAdventures, you will play a key role in the personal and intellectual development of young learners while helping them make the most of their summer camp experience. Classroom teachers are responsible for guiding camp counselors.

Requirements:

  • Must have valid NJ teaching certification.
  • Prior experience working with children ages 6-12 in an educational or camp setting.
  • Background check
  • CPR training
  • Full availability for weeks of July 14th to August 15th (Monday through Friday)
  • Ability to implement creative lesson plans.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment by reinforcing positive classroom expectations.
NOTES:
  • This position will remain open until filled.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US, and the university will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.

Residency Requirements

Rowan University is subject to the residency requirements of the NJ First Act (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7, P.L. 2011, Chapter 70). Any person hired to a non-exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey or have one (1) year from the date of employment to establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person hired to an exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York or have ninety (90) days from the date of employment to establish, then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York.

Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

Rowan is committed in assisting all members of our University community in providing for their safety and security.

The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is available on the Rowan University Police Department (RUPD), Clery Act webpage here. 

The report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as crime prevention, RUPD authority/jurisdiction, crime reporting policies, fire safety, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security on all our campuses. The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University on-campus student housing facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years, including reported crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act or the "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Police Department.
