Associate Director, Counseling & Psychological Services at the Wellness Center

The Wellness Center at Rowan University serves students in ways that support and affirm all their abilities and identities.  Under the direction of the Director of Counseling & Psychological Services, the Associate Director of CPS is responsible for the following tasks: coordination of all counseling services; chart auditing; development and maintenance of policies and procedures; supervision of staff; and assistance with crisis services.

Functional areas of responsibility:

  • Coordination of all clinical services
  • Commitment to accessibility and belonging.
  • Supervision of staff and trainees.
  • Assistance with crisis service operations.
  • After hours back up on call, as assigned.
  • Chart auditing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Masters degree in Social Work, Masters degree in Counseling, or Ph.D./Psy.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology is required.

Experience: our ideal candidate possesses an understanding of intersectionality, and how it impacts the daily lives of students, faculty and staff. Cultural responsiveness is of utmost importance. We seek individuals who are collaborative in nature, have strong communication skills, practice, good self-care, maintain healthy boundaries, and possess the ability to manage a challenging workload while promoting a positive atmosphere and healthy relationships.

At least two (2) years managerial or program coordination experience or at least two (2) years supervision experience with five (5) years clinical experience required in a mental health setting. There should be demonstrated experience working with a diverse student population; performing risk assessments; intake evaluations; individual and group psychotherapy; program development; and supervision of other professionals and/or trainees.

Licensure/Certifications: must be licensed as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), licensed as a Professional Counselor (LPC), or licensed as a Psychologist in the state of New Jersey.  The candidate should possess the years of licensure or certification requirement in order to supervise trainees.

As required by the State of New Jersey, must complete a criminal history check and have proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status. 

Salary & Benefits:

  • In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $95,000. When extending any salary offer, Rowan University considers many factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, work experience, education, training, key skills, internal equity, as well as market and other organizational considerations.

  • For eligible employees, benefits include comprehensive NJ State health, dental and retirement benefits, extensive accrued time off/paid holidays, and tuition reimbursement for employee, spouse, and dependents to attend Rowan University, Glassboro. (Tuition reimbursement will apply to undergraduate degrees only for spouse and dependents).
