Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Studies, Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering

The Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering at Rowan University seeks an Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Studies to provide strategic and operational effectiveness for enhancing student learning, retention and success, as well as overseeing academic policies and procedures within the college. This position works collaboratively with the relevant Dean’s offices, Department Chairs/Heads, Program Coordinators, academic departments, faculty, and other offices to ensure collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight of undergraduate student affairs, including but not limited to student registration, course scheduling, and student standing (e.g., probation and suspension).

  • Ensure that academic partnership programs with external constituents are maintained and managed in accordance with academic agreements. Work with School of Professional Studies on 2+2 and 3+1 partnerships as necessary.

  • Manage Community College Partnerships. Liaison with engineering departments, community colleges, and School of Professional Studies.
  • Manage the academic advising system, ensuring students receive accurate and timely guidance on curriculum, degree requirements, and academic planning.
  • Manage, coordinate, and implement processes in support of academic matters and student services for the College.

  • Serve as liaison with the Academic & Career Exploration (ACE) Center to ensure consistency with university policies, standards, and initiatives.

  • Guide program advisors and liaison with ACE to ensure quality and consistency in advising. Meet regularly with advising team, keeping them abreast of curricular changes, updates, and new programs.

  • Review historical enrollment trends and projected admissions for course planning purposes.

 

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a master's degree is required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • In-depth understanding of engineering program curricula

  • Proficiency with software tools used in student services, including but not limited to registration, scheduling, and academic advising

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in student advising

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience interacting with external constituents in partnership programs.

Salary & Benefits:

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000. When extending any salary offer, Rowan University considers many factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, work experience, education, training, key skills, internal equity, as well as market and other organizational considerations.  

For eligible employees, benefits include: comprehensive NJ State health, dental and retirement benefits, extensive accrued time off/paid holidays, and tuition reimbursement for employee, spouse, and dependents to attend Rowan University, Glassboro. (Tuition reimbursement will apply to undergraduate degrees only for spouse and dependents).”
