The Department of Medical Education and Scholarship at Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine (SOM) is seeking an experienced faculty member at the rank of Instructor or above (commensurate with experience) for anatomy lab instruction.

The position requires teaching of Human Gross Anatomy to undergraduate medical students at the campus in Stratford, NJ, as well as Human Gross Anatomy to Physician Assistant students at the Sewell, NJ campus. Successful candidates will have experience in the dissection and identification of structures in human cadavers. In addition, instructors may also facilitate weekly problem-based learning (PBL) small group sessions depending upon the needs of the department.

Expectations:

  • The faculty member will travel between the Stratford and Sewell campuses depending on teaching needs.
  • Participate in all dissection labs, the setup of practical exams, and in the scoring of students answer sheets.
  • Whenever possible, vacation and conference travel should be scheduled during the students’ time off in the winter, spring, and summer.
  • Service on SOM and University committees as needed.
  • Participate in scholarly activities including publications and seeking extramural research funding.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Medical and Scholarship.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in anatomical science with significant human gross anatomy component.
  • Experience teaching at a graduate level. 

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this AAUP position is:

Instructor: ($ 79,130 to $ 121,841.95) * 
Assistant Professor: ($ 96,673 to $ 148,476) * 
Associate Professor: ($ 114,671 to $ 176,290) * 
Professor: ($ 133,647 to $ 205,469) *

*Placement within the range is determined by the candidate's qualifications, professional experience, and other factors.
