SUMMARY: Manages the operations of the Office of Faculty Affairs. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Administration, this individual ensures compliance with procedures for faculty appointments including faculty recruitment, reappointments and promotions. Working independently, the Manager acts as the content expert on University guidelines for all faculty hires for the School of Osteopathic Medicine. This leader will supervise staff and serve as a liaison for various departments within the University and our external clinical partners.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Faculty Appointments, Reappointments and Promotions
Ensure that faculty appointments are done properly and in a timely fashion, processing the appropriate documents and ensuring the completion of candidate credentials for compliance and employment standards for submission and approval of University leadership and University Board of Trustees.
Accurately manages data collection, processing and reporting for the entire faculty of Virtua Health College and ensures confidentiality of information. Manages complex data for accreditation, compliance, and other surveys.
Faculty Performance Assessment and Compensation
Collaborates with department chairs and administrators regarding faculty transactions for faculty administrators and faculty, as called for by AAUP contract.
Works with Human Resources and other business offices in regard to proper submission and calculations of faculty administrators and AAUP eligible faculty transactions.
Works with Virtua Medical Group and Rowan Medicine Administration to ensure on boarding faculty attain needed documentation for credentialing and affiliation privileges.
Manages annual performance assessment of faculty with the departments and maintains information and records with regard to faculty performance assessment.
Faculty Affairs Committee Liaison
Prepares faculty appointment and promotions packages for review and approval by the Faculty Affairs Committee.
Acts as liaison between departments and Faculty Affairs Committee regarding the submission of the required documents for processing appointments and promotions.
University Faculty Affairs Liaison
Interfaces with Rowan University's Provost Office, Office of Legal Management and Department of Human Resources with regard to Faculty Personnel and related issues (bylaws, AAUP contract, FMLA administration, etc.)
Interfaces with the office of Risk Management and Insurance to ensure all procedures are adhered to for clinical faculty members.
Supervision
Manages and supervises the activities of the assigned staff. Recommends the hiring, firing, promoting, demoting, performance evaluations, transfers and/or disciplining of employees, as well as other personnel actions according to University policies and procedures.
Miscellaneous
Uses innovation and critical thinking to evaluate faculty processes and develops online tools, databases, and websites to streamline operations regarding applications, compliance, and faculty personnel management.
Develops and implements processes to monitor and update faculty CV’s, Code of Conduct and Compliance documents; Understands and adheres to Rowan-Virtua SOM's compliance standards as they appear in Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
Creates and manages content for the faculty affairs website and serves as a liaison for IT to manage online faculty evaluation portal.
Keeps abreast of all federal, state, and Rowan regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
Ensures that the staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant area plus five (5) years of related experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required. Outstanding customer service skills and supervisory experience strongly preferred. Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
SALARY INFORMATION
In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000.00, with placement within the range determined by candidate's qualifications, professional experience, internal equity, and other factors.
