Rowan University is seeking a highly skilled and creatively driven Part-Time Videographer to support the expansion of our online education initiatives. As the third fastest-growing research institution in the nation, Rowan University is committed to delivering high-quality, accessible, and innovative online learning experiences.

This position plays a key role in shaping compelling visual content that supports the needs of modern learners. This part-time role—up to 25 hours per week, will focus heavily on video editing, post-production, and motion graphics. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented creative professional with strong technical abilities and the ability to turn raw footage into polished, engaging multimedia content.

Responsibilities

● Serve as a post-production editor. Edit raw footage (including lecture recordings, talking heads, and educational modules) into cohesive digital learning content using Adobe Premiere Pro, handling all aspects of trimming, pacing, color correction, and sound mixing.

● Design and integrate motion graphics, typography, and visual effects using the Adobe Creative Suite to elevate the instructional quality and visual engagement of course materials.

● Ensure all video content meets accessibility standards, including captioning, formatting, and readability guidelines.

● Organize, label, and manage media assets, ensuring efficient workflows, version control, and proper archiving.

● Troubleshoot technical issues and maintain smooth operation of editing software.

● Collaborate with faculty and team members on project goals and apply creative solutions in post-production.

● Assist and support the digital media team with recording in studio and on campus recordings.

● Ensure all completed content aligns with university branding, copyright policies, and quality standards.

Schedule and Work Expectations

● Part-time position: up to 25 hours per week. Flexibility to meet project deadlines, with the flow of the academic cycles.

● Hybrid work possible, depending on project needs.

● Occasional on-campus filming may be required with advance notice. Key Metrics for Effective Performance

● Post-Production – Deliver polished, accessible, high-quality video content within established timelines.

● Creative Production Quality – Enhance learner engagement through strong visual storytelling, cohesive editing, and motion graphics.

● Efficiency & Organization – Manage multiple projects with clear workflows and excellent attention to detail.

● Collaboration – Communicate clearly and work effectively with faculty and team members. Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in film production, Media, Communications, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

● Proven experience as a videographer or video editor with a strong post-production portfolio.

● Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant editing/motion graphics tools.

● Strong understanding of video editing techniques, audio cleanup, color grading, typography, and visual design.

● Ability to work independently and manage a hybrid schedule while meeting deadlines.

● Excellent organizational and technical troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

● Experience with academic based online learning environments.

● Experience producing educational or training-style video content.

Rate: $27 per hour

Hours: 

  • This temporary, part-time position is assigned no more than twenty-five (25) hours per week. Work is contracted annually to coincide with the fiscal year and is contingent upon budget appropriations.
