This part-time position provides administrative support for the Executive Director for the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies (CINDS). The Center for Interdisciplinary Studies houses 6 programs, 2 other Centers, and 6 minors.

Responsibilities:

● Working with program coordinators, under the direction of the Executive Director of CINDS
● Supporting program coordinators through scheduling, record keeping, paperwork, and emails
● Assist with coordinating all hiring and onboarding including: ¾-time, adjunct and all undergraduate student hiring including I-9 completion, background checks, entering of job card in PageUp, assisting search committee when necessary
● Developing and maintaining accurate records; processing paperwork and/or requests efficiently and accurately
● Coordinate hiring guest speakers and planning events
● Coordinate and assist with student and faculty travel
● Coordinate student and faculty travel for the Model UN and AU programs which includes all paperwork and bus & hotel reservations.
● Collegially interact with faculty and staff both within and outside of the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies
● Problem solving faculty needs for grants travel, purchasing, and budget issues.
● Developing and maintaining accurate records for special assignment contracts, summer non-teaching contracts, etc.
● Work with budget processes and day-to-day operations
● Participate in department and college-wide events, and trainings needed to perform essential duties
● Performs other duties to support the Executive Director for the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies as assigned.
● Work independently.
● Strong communication skills, to write appropriate emails, to communicate effectively with 10 coordinators and Center directors, and to coordinate work with other staff members.

Requirements:

● Three (3) years of experience in secretarial and administrative clerical work.
● Successful completion of a clerical training program with a minimum of 700 classroom training hours or 30 semester hour credits in secretarial science from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of the experience indicated above. Course work must include typing skills, methods, and procedures; other courses may include, but not be limited to, office procedures, word processing, and business English.

Rate:

$20.00 per hour depending on experience.

Hours:

● This temporary, part-time position is assigned no more than ten (10) hours per week and is not to exceed 944 hours per fiscal year. Work is contracted annually to coincide with the fiscal year and is contingent upon budget appropriations.
