The Wellness Center at Rowan University serves students in ways that support and affirm all their abilities and identities.  Our ideal candidate possesses an understanding of intersectionality and how it impacts the daily lives of students.

Under the direction of the Director of The Wellness Center and the Associate Directors of Counseling and Psychological Services, the Psychologist is responsible to provide the following services for University students: mental health intake assessments; triage evaluations; psychological evaluations; treatment planning; individual and group mental health psychotherapy; crisis intervention; psychological first aid; case management; referral services; and, supervision of graduate and doctoral level trainees.  The Psychologist works with university and Student Life staff across the following areas: the Student Success Programs, ASCEND, Campus Recreation and the Center for Student Belonging and Student Engagement; as well as community agencies to assist or lead the development and delivery of relevant programs, presentations, and events.

The Psychologist hired for this position will be responsible for services at the Glassboro campus.  The Psychologist provides confidentiality, accuracy and integrity of client interactions, treatment protocols and records.  The Psychologist will provide direct clinical care, supervision to trainees, and may coordinate a specific program as identified by the Director.


Functional Areas of Responsibility:

  • Direct clinical care through mental health intake assessments, triage evaluations, psychological evaluations, treatment planning, individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, case management, and, as designated by an associate director, supervision of graduate trainees. 
  • Commitment to culturally responsive, identity affirming, trauma-informed care.
  • Program development as identified by the Director and Associate Directors.
  • Community service with events and collaborations both on and off campus.
  • Ongoing professional development with a focus on best practice models.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D./Psy.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology is required.
  • Licensed, or license eligible, as a Psychologist in the State of New Jersey.
  • Three (3) years clinical experience preferred in a mental health outpatient setting with demonstrated experience working with diverse student population; performing risk assessments; intake evaluations; individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy; psychological testing; and supervision of other professionals and/or trainees. 

Salary:

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is AFT: Range 24, ($73,899.91 to $84,980.25), with placement within the range determined by candidate's qualifications, professional experience, internal equity, and other factors. 

For internal applicants, salary is determined per the Pay Adjustment formula (NJAC 4A:3-4.9 & 4.10).
