Successful candidates must have a commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level. An MS degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field is required for appointment (PhD is preferred). In addition, excellent written and oral communication skills are expected. Candidates are sought to teach courses in various areas of mechanical engineering, including Machine Design, Statics, Dynamics, CAD, Quality and Reliability, Introduction to Mechanical Systems, Introduction to Mechanical Design, etc. A 3/4-time appointment typically carries a 9-credit per semester teaching load and pays 3/4 of the applicable salary of a full-time instructor, with no other benefits.
