The Director of Administration, in collaboration with the Department Chair & New Jersey Institute for Successful Aging (NJISA) Director, NJISA Co-Director, Vice Chair of Clinical Operations, and Manager of Department Operations, provides organizational leadership and operational oversight for the Department of Geriatrics & Gerontology and NJISA. Reporting directly to the Department Chair, this role manages key operational, financial, compliance, and administrative functions that support the department’s clinical, educational, and research missions. This position supervises core administrative personnel, ensuring effective communication and addressing education and training needs, while collaborating closely with department leadership. The Director of Administration plays a critical role in sustaining high-performing systems that drive continuous improvement, responds to Rowan Medicine Administration (RMA) and Virtua Medical Group (VMG) inquiries, and positions the department for strategic growth. |

The selected candidates will be integral in developing the Exotic Animal service within our new Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, currently under construction in Mullica Hill, NJ. The Exotic Animal department is responsible for exotic patient cases, hospital intakes and hospitalization of exotic animal patients. The new small animal teaching hospital is designed to accommodate multiple specialty departments including anesthesia, diagnostic imaging (with new GE CT and 3T MRI), dentistry and oral surgery, primary care, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, cardiology, emergency/critical care, dermatology, and surgery, and a full pharmacy with sterile compounding capabilities.
The selected candidates will provide comprehensive veterinary care for exotic patients within the service. They will have direct responsibility for teaching and evaluation of both DVM and veterinary technology students, interns, and residents in the clinical setting. Didactic teaching of exotic animal medicine and surgery within the pre-clinical years and coordination of including hands-on training experiences during the 3rd year are essential components of the role.
Successful candidates will have demonstrated expertise in exotic animal medicine and surgery including completion of an Exotics residency program (ABVP-Companion Mammal, ABVP-Avian, ABVP-Reptile/Amphibian or ACZM) and be Board-Eligible or ABVP or ACZM Board-Certified. |
