This is a full-time, 12-month academic position at the rank of Instructor, Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. Appointment may be in a tenure or clinical track depending on the qualifications and goals of the successful candidate.
Candidates must possess a DVM or equivalent degree, be eligible for licensure in the State of New Jersey, and board-certified or board eligible in ACVAA. The successful candidate will be a founding faculty member of the SSVM and play an integral role in the development and delivery of an integrated veterinary curriculum constructed around organ systems. Service duties include clinical service for the SSVM teaching hospital. This 50,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility located on the Glassboro Campus provides both primary and specialized care for companion, food and fiber animals throughout New Jersey and surrounding states.
Creative scholarly activity is expected to advance the discipline of veterinary anesthesia/analgesia though the creation and dissemination of new knowledge, but the extent will depend on the candidate’s appointment and may include collaborative or independent research. This position supports an important clinical service in the veterinary teaching hospital and significantly contributes to both client satisfaction and revenue generation. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive small animal dental specialty care to patients. They will have direct responsibility for teaching and evaluation of veterinary students, interns, and residents in the clinical setting. Teaching of dentistry and oral surgery within the pre-clinical years are essential components of the role. Successful candidates will have demonstrated expertise in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery through completion of a residency program and be board-eligible or AVDC board-certified.

This position carries a teaching load of three courses per semester and has no required service. The position may be renewed annually, and the normal contract year extends from September 1 to June 30.
The successful candidate will teach survey and upper division courses in their area of historical specialty. They may also teach courses for Rowan’s vibrant Women’s and Gender Studies Program, or for our MA program in history.
