The staff in the Center for Student Success at Rowan-Virtua SOM provide academic and career advising services for the medical students on the Rowan-Virtua SOM campus. CSS advisors are student advocates, highly-collaborative, and deeply invested in student success. The Program Coordinator is a full-time professional role that supports students in the earlier part of their medical school curriculum. The two most prominent functions of this role are academic advising/coaching and program development. Approved clinical supervision provided toward LCSW/LPC. Gain experience utilizing Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), a short-term, evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. As part of a multidisciplinary team under the direction of Esther Deblinger, Ph.D., co-developer of TF-CBT, responsibilities include conducting assessments of children who have experienced trauma and providing therapy to children and families impacted by child sexual abuse, physical abuse, and other traumas. Services may be provided in-person and/or by telehealth. Didactics on various topics related to childhood trauma as well as formal training and supervision in TF-CBT provided. A full-time one-year position with an option for additional years is available for qualified candidates interested in this specialized training opportunity.
