The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University Residential Facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Department of Public Safety.

Degree Works Subject Matter Expert (PSS2-CS), University Registrar's Office

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a functional expert on Degree Works, including DW Shell and Scribe.
  • As a member of the Degree Works team, leads the expansion of the Degree Works system at Rowan, including new populations of student programs and introduction of new functionality, including the Student Educational Planner and Transfer Equivalency Self Service.
  • Performs the timely and accurate programming/scribing, documentation and updating of program requirements into the Degree Works system.
  • Serves as the liaison with IRT, Advising and other offices regarding the technical needs of the system, including the ongoing student and faculty interface, and any maintenance/upgrades/patches required for the proper functioning of the system.
  • Works closely with every academic department and all academic advisors to fully understand each academic program/major and to ensure that the most-up-to-date requirements are properly reflected in the Degree Works system.
  • Troubleshoots and fine tunes any issues or errors found to provide accurate information and guidance to students regarding degree completion.
  • Works closely with the coordinators of curricular updates at Rowan, as well as the degree audit and the transfer articulation units within the Office of the University Registrar, to ensure an efficient workflow between the different systems and processes.
  • Manages the organization and tracking of all system information, update requests and completion dates, and provides reminders and reports as needed.
  • Generates reports from Degree Works on student enrollment and graduation data.
  • Responsible for ongoing communication and training with Rowan students, faculty and staff regarding proper Degree Works usage and interface, as well as the necessary training and support for staff within the Registrar's Office for proper programming and maintenance.
  • Represents the Office of the University Registrar as needed at meetings or presentations regarding Degree Works.
  • Engages in professional development related to the system.
  • Understands, implements, and properly communicates Registrar policy and process.
  • Understands and is compliant with University, Registrar, ADA, FERPA, and other rules and regulations that affect our processing and service.
  • Will work with confidential and sensitive information on a regular basis and will be required to interact professionally and effectively with staff, volunteers, program members, parents, community residents, and visitors. Like all members of the Office of the University Register, assists with other projects as needed.

Education/Experience Requirements: 

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in one or a combination of the following areas: data processing, installation and maintenance of application programs, technical support, and/or design and preparation of programs. Experience in higher education administration working with curricular program requirements, structure, and/or issues is preferred. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Degree Works system including scribing
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with the Ellucian/Banner Student Information System
  • Experience with COGNOS/Tableau
  • A positive approach to problem solving
  • Excellent organizational and Interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills that includes the ability to conduct public presentations
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly and independently
  • Ability to quickly acclimate to using a variety of electronic tools and reports
  • Commitment to providing superior customer service
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Ability to successfully problem-solve and manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Understanding of student information systems and structure

Salary:

  • Range P24 (Starting Salary Step 1 = $62,645)

  • Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required
