The Department of Psychology at Rowan University, the third fastest growing public research institution as recognized by The Chronicle of Higher Education, is seeking to hire a tenure-track faculty to begin their appointment in September 2025. This search is part of a broader, multi-year faculty hiring initiative across the College of Science & Mathematics.

Outstanding candidates with expertise in Clinical/Health Service Psychology and interest in serving as the Director of Clinical Training (DCT) of our APA-accredited PhD program in Clinical Psychology are invited to apply. Applications related to integrated healthcare and health psychology are preferred but candidates with research in any area of Clinical Psychology will be considered. 

A Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a conferral date no later than July 1, 2025, and license eligibility in the state of NJ is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a track record and/or potential to establish and sustain a compelling research program and demonstrated academic leadership. We anticipate hiring at the Associate Professor level, but outstanding candidates may be considered at the Assistant or Full Professor levels. The successful candidate is expected to provide strong leadership of the doctoral program, to develop and maintain an active research program, teach in the doctoral program (and potentially undergraduate program), and contribute to the various service endeavors in the Department, College, and University. Opportunities for collaboration exist within the Department, the College of Science & Mathematics, as well as with Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine, the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering, and other colleges at the university. 

 

The Department of Psychology is one of six departments in the College of Science & Mathematics. The department offers the following undergraduate and graduate programs and is soon to launch a graduate Human Factors program:

  • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a focus in Health Psychology and Integrated Healthcare

  • B.A. in Psychology

  • B.S. in Psychological Science

  • M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

  • M.A. in Applied Behavior Analysis

  • M.A. in School Psychology

  • Several certificate programs both at the undergraduate and graduate levels

 

Departments in the College of Science & Mathematics offer Ph.D., MS, and BS in programs such as Cybersecurity, Data Science, Neuroscience, and Complex Biological Systems, providing ample opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
